Bought a ADS-SR1 last summer. Found a minor firmware bug, but Scott fixed that promptly.
Used it at a new repeater site throughout the fall before the repeater was ready to be installed. Worked great! Was good to hear yourself and the signal quality coming back from other field testers.
Also used it extensively as a fox. Works great when setting all the messages at different intervals and making them increasingly taunting... ;-)
What really threw off the fox hunters is running it in tandem with another fox. I set the ADS-SR1 radio up for duplex. The ADS-SR1 would receive the other fox's signal, then the ADS-SR1 would retransmit that signal at low power on another frequency, usually around +/- 15KHz of the original fox. I separated the two foxes by several hundred feet. You should see them scratching their heads on that one... Some kept going back, and forth, and back, and forth... my bad! ;-)
Great product! Great service. Lots of fun!
