The GT-525 is a complete, compact GPS receiver with integrated patch antenna that measures 0.8"x0.8"x0.45" (20x20x12mm) and weighs only 11 grams. It runs on 3.0 to 5.5v DC and has both low-voltage TTL and RS-232 outputs, making it easy to integrate with APRS trackers and other devices.
We include a 2.4" / 60mm cable with the appropriate 1mm pitch wafer connector to simplify hookup. Pinouts are as follows:
To wire this receiver to a DB9 connector for use with an OpenTracker, Tracker2, or similar APRS receiver, wire black to pin 5, red to pin 4, and white to pin 2. Make sure the tracker is set up for 5v output - on the OpenTracker+ and Tracker2 the '12-5' jumper should be set to '5'.
The GT-525 is based on the SiRFStar III receiver and works at altitudes up to 60,000'. High-altitude balloon users, ask about the GT-320FW (available soon).
